Program Notes

Looking East features mystical 13th century Byzantine chants, meditative Greek Orthodox liturgical music and spirited Ukrainian carols. Experience the contemplative 20th century Orthodox-inspired works by John Tavener and Arvo Pärt, Jacob Handl's shimmering Rorate Caeli and Pärt's majestic Seven Magnificant Antiphons.

We look forward to sharing this musical mosaic of magnificent and rarely performed music this Christmas season as CMS looks east.
